Welcome to the 2017 Little League Spring season! Please take a few minutes to read the information below. As the season progresses, we will send additional information via email or through team managers. Check the website at www.chesapeakecityll.leaguetoolbox.com for updates.
**New players will receive an activation email after you have registered for the season – if signing up at In-Person registration, please allow one week for processing and check your spam folder if needed. Activating your league toolbox account will allow access to your children’s team schedules and league updates. Team managers will be using league toolbox to send reminders and team info. You can also select the option to receive text messages regarding schedule changes (rainouts, etc.) during the season.
Players in Minor and Major Divisions – Player Showcase to be held at All Seasons Sports Academy, Elkton

Minor and Major Softball - 2pm - 3pm

Minor and Major Baseball - 5:30 - 7:30pm
Minor and Major Softball - 7:30 - 9:00pm
Players in the Minor and Major Divisions of baseball and softball will participate in basic drills so Managers/Coaches get a chance to see all the players in these divisions. This is NOT a “try-out” for a team and all players will be placed on a team!
NOTE: IF YOUR PLAYER DOES NOT ATTEND ONE OF THE TWO SHOWCASE EVENTS, THEY WILL BE PLACED IN THEIR DIVISION PER THE CCLL AGE CHART. HOWEVER, IF A MINOR AGE PLAYER PLAYED IN MAJORS LAST YEAR, THEY WILL REMAIN IN THE MAJOR DIVISION.
Players MUST wear sneakers (NO CLEATS ALLOWED) and should bring a glove and bat if available. Some gloves and bats will be available to borrow if needed. DUE TO THE LIMITED TIME AVAILABLE, Players will need to warm up prior to their showcase time outside the building (weather permitting). Please allow a few minutes for stretches and warm up.
Players in Junior and Senior Baseball Divisions
Little League now allows these divisions to be combined. We are working with the other leagues in District 5 to decide how each league will structure these divisions. If combined, players will be drafted by league age so the teams are as even as possible.
All players will be drafted to teams at the beginning of March and practices will begin shortly after. Players should be contacted by the second week of March.

STUDENT VOLUNTEERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO GET INVOLVED! We coordinate with schools to offer service learning credits.
What is Player Pool?
Player Pool is available for Minor, Major, Jr and Sr divisions. CCLL keeps a list of players who are interested in playing additional games for other teams throughout the season, due to missing players on another team. This is a great way to work on skills and play with friends!
Players who sign up for Player Pool are put on a list and a rotation is held to as best as possible. If you did not sign up for Player Pool at registration and your player would like to sign up, send an email to email@example.com and include "player pool" in the subject line of the email.
Include player's name, parent name, and a daytime contact number.
Concession Stand Duties - Home Team all season
As in years past, CCLL requires a parent from each home team to work the duration of one game in the concession stand. Please help out your Managers and volunteer so they are not tasked with assigning parents to a particular game. If there is no team representative in concessions, we are forced stop the game until one is found.
Each home team is responsible for supplying a volunteer Umpire for their game. This can be a very difficult task for Managers if we don’t maintain a pool of Umpires. If you are interested in volunteering as an Umpire, contact our Chief Umpire, Chuck McArthur at firstname.lastname@example.org There will be several opportunities for training and equipment is supplied for use during the game.
Opening Day Raffle Tickets:
Each player receives 25 raffle tickets that can be sold for $1 each to offset the cost of registration. The Raffle is held on Opening Day. Tickets may be turned in at the Concession Stand on Opening Day until the time of the drawing. Winners do not need to be present but the contact info must be filled in and legible!
Basket Fundraiser IS BACK!!!
Once again, each CCLL team will be putting together a theme gift basket to be raffled off on Opening Day. The baskets will be displayed on Opening Day and raffle tickets sold throughout the day. The team basket that receives the most tickets at the Opening Day Raffle will win a pizza party!
Modell’s Team Weeks – shopping discounts during Mar-April, 2017
Gear up for the season! Use the coupon provided at registration (also on the Handout section of the website) for 15% off regular and sale priced merchandise at Modell’s Sports. MVP participants will earn rewards for purchases. This coupon is good for multiple purchases. If CCLL meets the qualifying purchase amount, the league will receive a donation of 5% of total sales during our Team Weeks period. Every purchase you make with the Team Weeks coupon helps CCLL - please support this program! We are able to purchase much needed equipment for the league with the donation received from Modell’s.
Monthly Board Meetings
Generally held the second Tuesday of every month at 6pm and are posted on our league website calendar. Feel free to attend and see what’s happening at CCLL! Check the website for changes to meeting schedule.
Field Work Days – to be held prior to Opening Day and throughout the season
We need your help! Get involved! We will be holding a Work Day prior to Opening Day and plan to hold several work days throughout the season and will be asking all divisions to help out with field upkeep. Info will be posted as we finalize scheduling. This is a great way to teach our players civic responsibility and pride. Students will receive service learning credit through Bo Manor MS and HS.
Parade and Opening Day – April 8
Teams should meet at Chesapeake City Elementary School at 8:00 am. The Parade will march to CCLL and Opening Ceremonies will begin immediately after all teams arrive. Games will begin immediately after Opening Ceremonies.
We will have the team baskets and silent auction items on display near the concession stand. If anyone wishes to donate an individual basket or item to the silent auction, email us at email@example.com.
Turn in Opening Day Raffle tickets at the raffle table throughout the day. All raffles will be drawn in the late afternoon. You do not need to be present to win but you must have contact info on your ticket!!
Picture Day - during Opening Day
We are finalizing details to schedule pictures. Updates will be posted on the website and Managers will be notified by phone. More information will be sent as Opening Day approaches.
MD5 Challenger Buddy Training - TBA
MD5 Challenger League is part of Maryland District 5 Little League that teaches children ages 6-22, with physical and mental disabilities, the game of baseball. Kids Ages 10+ are able to assist as Buddies to the Challenger players. Service Learning credits will be given for all student volunteers.
Challenger Division will play two games at CCLL during the season.
